PACKING/LOADING/STORAGE

Unfortunately no move is so simple. There are a million and one
things to do while preparing to move into your new home, but at
Richmond City Movers we offer the next best thing! Contact us today
and speak with a professional moving coordinator to find out how
we can take all the planning, packing, and stress off of your
shoulders.
Our diligent crews provide a plethora of services ranging from packing all of your household items, to just the most fragile and valuable. They will pack your belongings, as if they were their own, in boxes with packing paper or bubble wrap. They will store your clothes in wardrobes for transit and easy access in your new abode. Furthermore, your furniture will either be shrink wrapped or protected by furniture pads in order to avoid any accidental scratching. Extremely fragile belongings are protected by mirror cartons or picture cartons. Our assiduous crew members will then load your belongings into the truck to transport you to your new home. All of our trucks are low riders, allowing us to walk directly onto the truck. There are security harnesses inside the hall of the truck so they are able to strap in your valuables, as you would your loved ones.
A: If you need to move today, we can probably do that. If you
require a written in-home estimate, you should call about 7 days
to 2 weeks before your move. We generally just ask you to give
us as much notice as you can.
Q:How long does Richmond City Movers need for an In-home
Estimate?
A:Usually no more than an hour.
Q:What are my responsibilities?
A:In brief ...Be present during the packing of your belongings.
Take personal responsibility for jewellery and other high value
items. Check and sign the inventory of your belongings. Ensure
that no prohibited items are packed. Q:So what can or can't I
take with me?
A:Generally speaking, dispose of all flammable items, liquids,
foods and other items that should not be shipped. Anything that
can deteriorate should not be shipped. If you have a question
about something, just call and ask.
Q:Anything that is definitely a no-go area?
A:Well, mainly those things you might expect - drugs, alcohol,
weapons, ammunition. Shipping certain high value items or
collections may require you to purchase extra coverage.
Q:How long will Richmond City Movers take to pack my goods?
A:Every home is different but we can normally pack a home in 1-2
days.
Q: What are the optional services?
A:In addition to loading and
unloading the truck, Richmond City Movers can
assist you in your moving process by disassembling and
reassembling your furniture. Furthermore, we can arrange to have
multiple stops in your move, as sometimes our clients have
additional furniture and belongings in storage, for example.

Q: Can I
leave my clothes in the drawers?
A:You may, but please think about the individuals who are moving
you. Heavy items are harder to manoeuvre and increase the chances
of someone getting hurt. In order to keep our crews’ work
environment safe, they may take the full drawers out of the
dresser and carry them down as separate items, this means the
articles inside the drawer will be exposed to the external
weather conditions.
